In a dramatic encounter, Matthijs de Ligt rescued a 2-2 draw for the Red Devils in stoppage time, ensuring both sides missed the chance to move up to second place in the league table.
Spurs appeared to have snatched a late win when Mathys Tel equalised before Richarlison’s 91st-minute header made it 2-1.
But United refused to give up, and De Ligt’s powerful 96th-minute header sealed a dramatic point, extending their unbeaten streak to five matches.
Reacting on social media, United fans were left unimpressed with one decision made by Ruben Amorim.
They were not happy with Amorim deploying Mbeumo on the left hand side.

“Ruben Amorim was playing Mbeumo and Cunha/Mount in the opposite side of their natural positions,I don’t know what this coach does man.”
@BossuDenayer added:
“Yeah, that tweak didn’t make sense. Mbeumo’s best work comes on the right when he can attack the half-space and combine off cunha . On the left he loses those inside runs and timing cues. Amorim overthought it.”
@HatedAdorecl posted:
“Ugarte and Dalot killed the game. We need better quality in depth. And why did Amorim play Mbeumo off the left all game?”
One fan said:
“Amorim has costed United this game what was Mbeumo still doing at the Left hand side.”
Another tweeted:
“Mbeumo is still on the left and Cunha on the right with Sesko on. I don’t understand what Amorim is cooking here.”
Another added:
“This is Amorim’s worst performance of the season probably. Not talking about the team, but just the manager. Why was Mbeumo playing on the left all game? That was such a huge mistake.”

Both sides move onto 18 points from 11 games but goal difference separates Spurs in third from United in seventh.
The Red Devils have now failed to beat Spurs in their previous eight meetings, including a 1-0 defeat in the Europa League final in May.
As a result, Spurs qualified for the Champions League, while United missed out on European football altogether.
