The Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and UAE AID, in partnership with the Food Banking Regional Network (FBRN) and in collaboration with Food for All Africa, have commenced the nationwide distribution of food boxes, basic essentials, nutritional support and clothing under the 1 Billion Meals Endowment Ghana Distribution 2025.
The initiative running from October through November 2025 will reach vulnerable households and communities across the Ashanti, Central, Eastern, and Greater Accra Regions, providing vital food and livelihood support to thousands of families facing economic hardship and food insecurity.
The official launch took place at the Offinso Saboa Mosque in the Ashanti Region, marking the beginning of a two-month distribution program aimed at strengthening community resilience and advancing the fight against hunger and malnutrition in Ghana.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mallam Tamimu Bamba, Imam of the Offinso Saboa Mosque, expressed deep gratitude to the partners for their humanitarian efforts:
“This initiative is a true blessing to our community. It has come at a time when many families are struggling to meet their daily food needs. We pray for continued strength and blessings for those supporting this noble cause.”
Also present at the event, Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah, the Municipal Chief Executive for Offinso South, commended Food for All Africa for its leadership in implementing sustainable hunger relief projects:
“The 1 Billion Meals Endowment Ghana project demonstrates what is possible through collaboration. We are proud to see MBRGI and its partners leading the way in ensuring that no Ghanaian goes hungry, especially the vulnerable in our municipalities.”
Mr. Nelson Agboba, Operations Manager of Food for All Africa, extended appreciation to the project sponsors for their continued support in addressing food insecurity and poverty in Ghana:
“We are deeply grateful to the Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, UAE AID, and the Food Banking Regional Network for making this project possible. Their investment in people’s lives is creating a lasting impact on food systems and communities across Ghana.”
Project Manager, Mr. Elinam Amudzi, called on local authorities and communities to partner with Food for All Africa to ensure the long-term sustainability of such interventions:
“We encourage district assemblies and community leaders to work with us in building efficient and sustainable models of nutrition support. Together, we can ensure that vulnerable families have access not just to food, but to dignity and opportunity.”
The 1 Billion Meals Endowment Ghana Distribution 2025 builds on Food for All Africa’s decade-long mission of creating a more inclusive and sustainable food supply chain through food recovery, redistribution, and community empowerment initiatives.
