Nestlé Ghana has officially relaunched the MILO Under-13 Champions League for 2025, reviving one of the country’s most iconic youth football tournaments after a five-year hiatus. The announcement, made at Nestlé Ghana’s headquarters in Accra, was attended by key officials from Nestlé Ghana, the Ghana Education Service, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, and the Ghana Football Association.

The comeback edition arrives with a refreshed identity, including a new tournament logo and a specially designed trophy donated by Ghanaian football legend Abedi “Pélé” Ayew, underscoring the tournament’s rich legacy and renewed ambition.

Nestlé Ghana Managing Director, Salomé Azevedo, highlighted the competition’s long-standing impact, stressing that the MILO U-13 Champions League has never been just a football event.
“Football reveals the inner qualities of young players and helps them grow into professionals in many fields of endeavour. Through the game, children learn vital life skills that extend beyond the pitch,” she said.

Azevedo also noted the competition’s proven track record of developing elite talent, with stars like Abdul Majeed Waris, Fatawu Issahaku, and Kelvin Nkrumah emerging from its school-based tournaments to shine on the international stage.

Ghana captain André Dede Ayew, the brand icon for the 2025 edition, echoed this sentiment, describing the platform as a powerful engine for youth development.
“This tournament is more than a competition. It has shaped dreams, discovered stars, and built confidence in many young talents,” he said.

The 2025 MILO U-13 Champions League is set to be one of the most expansive yet, with over 100,000 schoolchildrenexpected to participate across all 16 regions. The tournament will roll out in phases starting with district qualifiers, progressing through zonal stages, and reaching its climax at the national finals from December 2 to 6, 2025, at the Paa Joe Stadium (KNUST) in Kumasi.

With its revival, the MILO U-13 Champions League reaffirms its status as a cornerstone of Ghana’s grassroots football ecosystem — and a breeding ground for the next generation of football stars.
