- The Ghanaian international had a game to forget against Bournemouth on Saturday, August 30
- His compatriot, Antoine Semenyo, had the last laugh in the contest with his side sealing a 1-0 victory
Former West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green has slammed Mohammed Kudus following Tottenham Hotspur’s maiden defeat of the season.
The Lilywhites were on a purple patch, picking two wins from their opening two games of the 2025/26 Premier League season, until they met Antoine Semenyo and AFC Bournemouth.

One of the key performers for Spurs was Kudus, whose brilliant displays have caught the eye of many.
However, against Bournemouth, the North London club had a spanner thrown in their good works.
Five minutes into the tie, Brazilian forward Evanilson broke the game’s deadlock after collecting a pass from Marcos Senesi.
Aside from Evanilson’s opener, the Cherries created several opportunities using the same channel occupied by Kudus and Pedro Porro.
West Ham legend blames Kudus for Tottenham’s defeat
Speaking on World Feed commentary, former England international Rob Green slammed Kudus’ lack of defensive responsibility and claimed that he needs to help Porro out more.
“Kudus is giving Porro no help there whatsoever. That needs to change quickly,” he stated, as quoted by Tottenham News.
“Porro needs to have a word with his teammate to say: ‘Help me here, I’m struggling.’”
Kudus was culpable in this. But while the other attackers were also poor, his display was made even worse by his lack of defensive contribution.
How Kudus performed against Semenyo’s Bournemouth
According to Sofascore, the Ghanaian lost possession 23 times, won just 12 of the 30 ground duels he contested.
Additionally, he completed five dribbles out of the 13 he attempted, a disappointing turnout for a metric he usually thrives in. Despite the below-par display, Kudus finished with a 6.8 rating
It was an odd afternoon for the Black Stars playmaker, who had otherwise enjoyed a strong start to the season.
On the flip side, Antoine Semenyo enjoyed yet another impressive turnout for Bournemouth. The Ghanaian winger was a thorn in the flesh of Kudus and his Spurs teammates.
Pedro Porro was one of Semenyo’s victims as his pace, sheer power and movement proved a tad difficult for the Spaniard and the Spurs backline to handle.
Nonetheless, the pair would put their brief rivalry behind them as they link up with the rest of Otto Addo’s 24-man squad for next month’s round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana will face Chad in N’Djamena on September 4 before playing host to West African rivals Mali four days later.
