The countdown is on for one of music’s biggest nights! MTV today revealed an all-star lineup of presenters, hosts, and performers for the 2025 Video Music Awards, set to air LIVE coast-to-coast on Sunday, September 7, from New York’s UBS Arena. The show kicks off at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on the CBS Television Network, simulcast on MTV, and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.
Rap icon LL COOL J will take the helm as host, guiding fans through an electrifying evening filled with unforgettable moments.
All-Star Presenters
The night’s presenters promise to bring extra star power, with appearances from Ashlee Simpson Ross, Brittany Snow, Ciara, Drew Barrymore, KPop Demon Hunter’s EJAE, Huntr/x duo REI AMI and Audrey Nuna, Ice Spice, Jessica Simpson, Latto, Livvy Dunne, Malin Akerman, Megan Stalter, Nikki Glaser, and Paris Hilton.
Pre-Show Excitement
Before the main event, the one-hour VMAs Pre-Show will air at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT, hosted by Nessa and Kevan Kenney. The pre-show will simulcast across MTV, BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, CMT, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land, and VH1.
The highlight of the pre-show will be a debut performance from KATSEYE, the global girl group making waves with their new EP Beautiful Chaos. Performing hits “Gnarly” and “Gabriela,” the first-time nominees are also competing for MTV PUSH Performance of the Year and Best Group after scoring their first Billboard 200 Top 5.
Extended Play Stage Moves In-Show
For the first time ever, the Extended Play Stage, presented by Doritos®, will be integrated into the main broadcast, shining a spotlight on three first-time nominees:

Bailey Zimmerman ft. The Kid LAROI – The country breakout star joins forces with global chart-topper The Kid LAROI, both marking their VMAs performance debuts while competing in categories including Best Collaboration and Song of the Summer.

Lola Young – The British pop-soul powerhouse will perform her smash “Messy” while vying for Best New Artist and Best Alternative.

Megan Moroney – The platinum hitmaker will bring “6 Months Later” to the stage as she competes in the newly introduced Best Country category for her No. 1 single “Am I Okay?”
Behind the Scenes
The 2025 VMAs are produced by Gunpowder & Sky, with Bruce Gillmer, Jesse Ignjatovic, and Barb Bialkowski serving as executive producers. Alicia Portugal joins as co-executive producer, with Jackie Barba, Wendy Plaut, and Lisa Lauricella overseeing production, celebrity talent, and music talent respectively.
