August 6 helicopter crash victims honoured

YEN.com.gh reported that the three Ghana Air Force personnel who tragically lost their lives in the August 6 military helicopter crash have been honoured with posthumous promotions in recognition of their service and sacrifice.

President John Mahama, speaking at the state funeral held on August 15, described the gesture as the highest mark of respect the nation could bestow upon the fallen officers. He praised their dedication to duty and assured their families that their legacies would never be forgotten.

In addition, the president announced the creation of a Children’s Support Fund to provide educational and welfare assistance to the children of all victims of the crash. The initiative, he explained, aims to ensure that the dependents of the departed will continue to receive the care and opportunities their parents would have wished for them.
