Controversial political commentator Appiah Stadium has reacted to the demise of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

In an interview with Joy News, Appiah Stadium rebuked their reporter for not wearing the appropriate attire to attend the meeting. He noted that the journalist needed to wear outfits that matched the sad mood around the Manhyia Palace.
The political commentator got emotional as he spoke about how big a loss the Ashanti Kingdom had suffered due to Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s demise.
The staunch National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporter, who also attended the Asanteman Traditional Council meeting, extended his condolences to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Kingdom.

Asantehemaa passes away at 98
On Monday, August 11, 2025, the Oyoko Family confirmed that the Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who held the second most powerful position in the Ashanti Kingdom, had died at the age of 98.
The sad announcement of her demise was publicly made after the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, held an emergency Asanteman Traditional Council meeting with other prominent chiefs in his kingdom.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was the biological eldest sister of the current Asantehene. She served as the Asantehemaa for eight years, after being enstooled on February 6, 2017.

The late Asantehemaa succeeded her mother, who passed away in November 2016 at about 109 years old.
The one-week observance for the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Throughout her time in her position, she engaged in many charitable activities to promote development in the various communities in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
She made a huge donation to the mothers at the Mother-Baby Unit, Pediatric Emergency Care Unit, and Pediatric Emergency Unit during her fifth anniversary celebrations.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III also covered all the medical bills and expenses for new mothers at the Mother-Baby Unit at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Manhyia Government District Hospital.
Following the announcement of the Asantehemaa’s demise, some women wailed in their mourning clothes, signalling the mood at the Manhyia Palace.
