Nigerian alternative R&B singer Temmie Ovwasa, popularly known as YBNL Princess, has opened up about her unapologetic stance toward men, saying she has no interest in showing them grace — good or bad.
During a question-and-answer session with fans on Saturday, the openly lesbian artist shared that her focus is on building a lesbian-centred world, especially in a country where she believes women face constant threats of gender-based violence and femicide.
“In this same country where all it takes to justify r3ping a woman is to tell people she’s a lesbian? Lmao, you must be joking,” she wrote. “Take all the good men, marry all of them — more for you, dear. As I said, I’m building a lesbian-centred world, no exceptions.”
Temmie, who has long been vocal about her sexuality and feminist views, doubled down on her position, insisting that men — regardless of character — have no place in her world.
“It doesn’t matter if they are good or bad, in my world they don’t matter,” she added. “Advocate for women and children like this, then let’s talk. Don’t waste my time on these asinine boundary-testing conversations. idgaf.”
Known for her outspoken personality and raw storytelling in music, Temmie continues to challenge societal norms and spark conversations about sexuality, gender, and power dynamics in Nigeria’s conservative entertainment space.
