Nissan has launched its compact SUV Magnite in Morocco, marking the vehicle’s first left-hand drive introduction in Africa.
The Japanese automaker selected the North African nation as a strategic entry point, with Nissan Africa president Jordi Vila describing Morocco as “a gateway market” for the region during Wednesday’s coastal drive event attended by journalists from across the continent.
The Magnite arrives with four trim options, including CVT automatic and manual transmission models, priced competitively for Morocco’s young urban demographic.
Notable features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, six airbags, and an innovative Around View Monitor system – rare in the B-SUV segment.
Since its 2020 global debut, the model has sold over 150,000 units worldwide.
SMVN Managing Director Yassine Benmassi confirmed the vehicle’s suitability for Moroccan driving conditions, citing its 1.0L turbocharged engine and climate-adaptive features like an onboard air ionizer.
The launch included test drives along Morocco’s Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, showcasing the SUV’s urban maneuverability and highway performance.
