Rapper Young Bleed, born Glenn Clifton Jr., has passed away at the age of 51 following a brain aneurysm, his family has confirmed.

The Baton Rouge native, best known for his 1990s hit “How You Do That” with C-Loc, reportedly collapsed in Las Vegas days before his death on November 1.

His son, Ty’Gee Ramon Clifton, shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram video, saying, “As of November 1st, my dad gained his wings.” Ty’Gee expressed gratitude to fans for their concern and clarified that his father’s death was caused by a brain aneurysm brought on by high blood pressure, adding, “My dad didn’t have real health issues — these are just chapters in life.”

Young Bleed rose to fame in the late 1990s as a member of the Concentration Camp collective, blending Southern storytelling with smooth, reflective lyricism. Over his career, he released nine studio albums and became a respected voice in Southern hip-hop, earning admiration for his distinctive style and authenticity.

In the wake of his passing, the rapper’s mother has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical and funeral expenses. She described his sudden illness as “completely unexpected and life-changing.” Fans and peers across the hip-hop community have since paid tribute to Young Bleed’s enduring legacy as a pioneer of Baton Rouge rap and a voice that shaped an era.
