Ghanaian rapper Okomfour Kwadee, who has been away from the music scene for a long time, was recently seen performing in the Ashanti Region.

The rapper, before his recent public appearance, had taken a long hiatus from music due to mental health reasons. He has been unwell and unstable for over a decade.

It appears the award-winning hiplife star known for his soul-stirring and thought-provoking lyrics is gradually inching closer to his resurgence.

A video sighted by YEN.com.gh saw Okomfour Kwadee performing some of his hit classics in front of a younger audience.

While the musician sang Me Yere ne Me Mpena and Ofie Nipa, the students gathered around him and jammed to Kwadee’s songs.

Many of the audience at the event were high school students who were either toddlers or yet to be born when Kwadee reached his peak.

Kwadee’s stint with the high school students is part of an ongoing drive to leverage the rapper’s past history to create awareness about the danger of drug use.

Kwadee has been in and out of rehabilitation centers. The latest was at the Willingway Rehab Centre in Kumasi.

Before his rehab, the rapper was residing with relatives the where his condition worsened. Last year a footage of him looking frail and unkempt spooked many of his colleagues who feared the worst might happen.
