The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man at the centre of an alleged false-news scheme targeting a prominent traditional leader.
In a statement issued on Thursday, November 20, the Police said suspect Samuel Amadotor was picked up with support from the National Signals Bureau (NSB) after Okatakye Boakye Danquah Ababio I lodged a complaint accusing him of deliberately publishing false and damaging information about him.
During interrogation, Amadotor reportedly confessed to the offence and claimed he had been contracted by one Chairman Michael Yeboah to carry out the false publication.
Police say the said Chairman Yeboah is now on the run and is being pursued to assist with investigations into what appears to be a coordinated smear operation.
Meanwhile, the arrested suspect remains in custody and is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, November 21, 2025, as investigations deepen.
