The overwhelming public approval enjoyed by the President John Mahama-led administration since assuming office on January 7, 2025, has dropped significantly by six per cent.
The latest national tracking poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics indicated that President Mahama’s approval rating has declined from 73 per cent in July to 67 per cent in September 2025.

This means that the number of Ghanaians who believe the country is headed in the right direction under the ruling National Democratic Congress‘ government has decreased.
Despite the drop, the poll, released on September 24, 2025, showed that two in three voters approve of the performance of the president, including a majority of voters from the Ashanti Region, according to Global InfoAnalytics.
The Global InfoAnalytics poll also showed that the number of voters who are dissatisfied with President Mahama’s governance increased from 19 per cent in July to 22 per cent in September.
The national tracking poll also showed that the number of voters who are indifferent about the governance of the country by President Mahama surged from eight per cent in July to 11 per cent in September.

Ghanaians react to the Global InfoAnalytics’ poll
Ghanaians on social media have reacted to the national tracking poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics.

Mahama urged to declare war on galamsey
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh reported that a protester at the #StopGalamseyNow march appealed emotionally to President John Mahama to take bold action against illegal mining.
He urged the government to declare a national war on galamsey, citing mercury contamination and birth defects in mining communities.
The #StopGalamseyNow protest entered its second day with demonstrators marching to the seat of power, Jubilee House, to submit a petition.
