The goalkeeper’s most iconic chapter unfolded during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Trusted by then-coach Avram Grant as Ghana’s No.1, Brimah was at the heart of the Black Stars’ march to the final.

That dramatic night against Ivory Coast in Equatorial Guinea ended in tears after a tense 9–8 penalty shootout, but Brimah had already cemented his place in the national setup.

Two years later in Gabon, he once again guarded Ghana’s posts at AFCON 2017. Although the team only reached the semi-finals, Brimah’s composure and commanding presence drew respect from fans and pundits alike.

Razak Brimah’s club football career

According to Wikipedia, At the height of his international career, the ex-Black Stars of Ghana No.1 was playing for Córdoba CF in Spain’s Segunda División.

Competing in such a demanding league sharpened his abilities and boosted his confidence for national duty.

In 2017, he crossed continents to join Mamelodi Sundowns, one of South Africa’s most decorated sides.

While the move promised opportunity, game time proved limited, and he parted ways with the club in 2018, according to African Football.

That setback didn’t define him. Instead, he returned to Spain to rediscover himself, signing for Linares Deportivo in 2019.

His 25 appearances that season helped the club earn promotion and lso earned him the award for Best Goalkeeper of the Season — a fitting testament to his resilience.

Even in his mid-30s, Brimah continues to ply his trade with dedication. In 2024, he signed for CD Calahorra, adding yet another chapter to his long footballing career.

While this may signal the twilight of his career, his passion and dedication to the game remain as strong as ever.

Razak’s social media lifestyle

Away from stadiums and training grounds, Brimah is a man anchored in family values. He often shares heartfelt moments with his wife and child on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse into his life beyond football.
