• Ruth Dela Seddoh has been appointed as the new Director-General of the National Service Authority
  • She replaces Felix Gyamfi who has been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance with immediate effect
  • The appointment comes amid a ghost names scandal uncovered at the National Service Scheme by The Fourth Estate

The Deputy Youth Organiser of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ruth Dela Seddoh, has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA).

Dela Seddoh’s appointment comes after Felix Gyamfi, the former Director-General of the NSA, was reassigned to the Ministry of Finance with immediate effect.

Before being named head of the NSA, Dela Seddoh was the Second Deputy Director, serving under the former boss.

It’s not yet clear what caused the leadership shake-up at the NSA. The National Service Scheme has recently been embroiled in a ghost names scandal uncovered by The Fourth Estate.

When Felix Gyamfi was appointed as NSA DG

Upon assuming office on January 7, 2025, President John Mahama appointed Felix Gyamfi as the acting Director-General of the National Service Authority.

The appointment, which took effect on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, was made under Article 195(1) of the Constitution and the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119).

In a letter signed by Dr Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, President Mahama extended his best wishes to Mr Felix as he took on the new role to guide the Authority in its mandate of youth development and national service delivery.
