Sam Kuffour signs for Hornchurch FC
On August 8, English club Hornchurch FC confirmed Sam’s arrival on loan from Colchester United.
The move offers the young defender a fresh stage to grow his game and make a name for himself.
Hornchurch manager Daryl McMahon shared his thoughts on the signing, saying, as quoted by the club’s website:
“I had seen him play last year for Maldon & Tiptree a couple of times. We knew about his potential, and we are really happy that Colchester United and Danny Cowley have been in touch and have let us have him to help push his development.
He continued: “We hope what we did last year with the players we took on loan and aiding their development that we are getting recognised now, with clubs happy for us to have their players. We hope Sam can develop as the other boys did last year, and we’re sure he can.”
According to Ghanasoccernet, 24 hours after completing his loan move, Sam made his debut for the Urchins.
He stepped onto the pitch as a late substitute for Thomas Wraight during their National League South opener against Weston-Super-Mare.
Hornchurch clinched a 3-2 victory at home, giving the young defender a winning start.
Before arriving at Hornchurch, the young Kuffour’s career took him through several academies and leagues.
He developed at Brentford and West Ham’s youth setups, then moved abroad to sign for Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheba.
In 2022, he returned to England, joining Colchester United and later enjoying loan spells at Cheshunt and Maldon & Tiptree.
