Abigail Salami, the wife of Samuel Aboagye, a victim of the recent tragic helicopter crash near Obuasi, has shared an emotional tribute to her late husband days after his burial.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, the widow of the deceased Acting Deputy Director-General of Operations at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) took to her official TikTok page to mourn her husband’s demise.

Abigail Salami shared an old photo of herself with her late husband wearing a smock as they spent a private moment.

The late Samuel Aboagye’s widow also shared a screenshot of the last birthday message she received from her husband on August 1, 2025, five days before his tragic demise in the helicopter crash with seven other victims.

Abigail Salami accompanied her TikTok post with a heartbreaking message to her late husband.

Samuel Aboagye’s widow shared how she missed her late husband and the long-term plans they had for their marriage.

She wrote:

“I miss you deeply, my king. I never imagined you would leave me to face this life alone. Our plan was to create more beautiful memories together, but now I find myself asking, Where are you? Continue to rest peacefully, my love.”

The former Obuasi East NDC parliamentary candidate was among the eight victims of the incident, which occurred when they were travelling inside the Ghana Air Force’s Harbin Z-9 helicopter to attend an anti-Galamsey event in Obuasi.

The other victims included two cabinet ministers, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed. Three Ghana Armed Forces personnel also lost their lives in the helicopter crash.

Samuel Aboagye and five others were laid to rest at the Military Cemetery after a state funeral service was held at the Black Stars Square on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Kevin Taylor recounts last message from Samuel

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Kevin Taylor recounted the last message he received from Samuel Aboagye before his demise.

In a video, the popular NDC activist also opened up about his and his team’s contribution to the deceased’s parliamentary campaign before the 2024 elections in an emotional eulogy.

Kevin Taylor also shared his fond memories of the late Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah.
