Sefwi-Wiaso Mourns Tragic Loss Of 8 National Patriots In Helicopter Crash

Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in Western North Region, Hon Dominic Gyasi, and Wiawso NDC Constituency Executives have paid a heartfelt tribute to eight patriotic Ghanaians, including two ministers of the state, who perished in last Wednesday’s helicopter crash. President Mahama urges Ghanaians to mourn and remember our heroes who died on Wednesday.

Hon Gyasi Dominic described the tragedy as “profoundly painful and devastating”.

According to a statement from MCE on Saturday, August 9, the deceased persons were men of purpose and distinction whose contributions to National development, peace, and security had been self-evident in their leadership.

However, these legends were going to put measures in place to prevent illegal mining activities in Ghana, when they unfortunately passed away, after the Z9 helicopter, carrying three crew and five passengers, came down in a dense forest as it was flying from the capital, Accra, to the town of Obuasi.

MCE advised the people who participate in illegal mining activities to stay away from it to save lives and the environment.
