The Sierra Leone Football Association is in mourning following the tragic passing of Julius Goba, a former midfielder for Ports Authority and FC Kallon.
Known affectionately in the football community as “Juli,” his sudden loss has left a deep void in the hearts of many, both within the football world and beyond.

Julius was a talented footballer and a respected figure whose contributions to Sierra Leonean football will be remembered for years to come. According to Sierra Loaded, Goba passed away on Wednesday, August 13, after a short illness.
Julius Goba played with an intensity and passion that made him stand out at both the club level and in his national football endeavors. As a midfielder, Julius was known for his excellent ball control, vision, and the ability to dictate the pace of a game.
Goba at Ports Authority and FC Kallon
During his time with Ports Authority, Goba quickly became a key player in the team. His work ethic and leadership on the field left a lasting impact on the club, which he served with great distinction.
According to Transfermarkt, Goba joined FC Kallon in April 2021, going on to become of the best players to represent the Sierra Leonean outfit.

The SLFA has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Julius Goba. In a statement, President Babadi Kamara, the Executive Committee, staff, and the entire football family extended their heartfelt condolences to Julius’ family, friends, and former teammates.
“The football fraternity is poorer for the loss of Julius, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of sharing the pitch with him,” the SLFA said.
