Gloria compared Ghana’s situation to Nigeria, where producers clearly separate cinema releases from YouTube content. She noted that this system has allowed Nigeria to cater to different audiences while maintaining high standards in its film industry.
The AMVCA7 Best supporting Actress winner believes Ghana would benefit from adopting a similar model, stressing that the absence of structure in determining which films go to streaming platforms or cinemas weakens the industry. In her view, this shortfall “affects Ghana’s ability to meet international standards and compete globally.”
