Ghanaian gospel singer Piesie Esther has revealed how ill advice from someone almost cost her a lifelong blessing, her marriage.
The award-winning artiste, who is currently promoting her new single “Nyame Ye”, opened up about this personal experience during an interview on Okay FM. According to Piesie, just before she tied the knot with her now-husband, Enoch Aseidu, someone close to her strongly discouraged her from going ahead with the marriage.
At the time, she had gained popularity through her hit track “Me Nte Ase” and had started rubbing shoulders with influential personalities. This, she explained, gave the person the impression that she deserved “someone of a higher status.”
“The person took me to a restaurant and advised me not to marry him. They told me that since I had become popular and was meeting big men and big personalities, I should aim higher. They said I would definitely meet someone rich, someone with cars and houses, who could even gift me a car,” she recounted.
The renowned singer further disclosed that the individual even reminded her of her humble beginnings, suggesting she should use her fame as an opportunity to marry into wealth, not only for herself but also to support her family.
“At that point, I was very confused,” she said. “I thought deeply about it because the person made me feel like it was the only chance I had to secure a better life for my family,” she said.
Caught in the dilemma, Piesie revealed that she sought the counsel of a spiritual father of hers, who has since passed away. Through prayer and divine guidance and revelation, the musician said she became convinced that Enoch Aseidu was the right man for her.
Ignoring the advice, she went ahead with the marriage, and years later, she has no regrets. Piesie described her husband as a calm, God-fearing, and peaceful man, qualities she treasures above all. She emphasized that being the son of a Pentecost pastor, her husband has shown her unwavering support throughout their marriage and ministry.
“Looking back, I realize how much I would have lost if I had listened to that advice. My husband has given me nothing but peace, support, and love,” she said with gratitude.
The gospel star used her story to highlight the dangers of blindly following the opinions of others. She cautioned that sometimes, people’s words can cause individuals to miss out on golden opportunities that God has prepared for them.
