
The 36th Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) National Marketing Performance Awards celebrated outstanding achievements in marketing and brand excellence on Friday night, September 26, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
At the prestigious event, Mrs Mansa Nettey, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, was named 2024 CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year, a recognition of her exceptional leadership, marketing innovation, and impact on Ghana’s financial sector.
The Marketing Man award went to Dr James Orleans-Lindsay, Executive Chairman of JL Holdings.

The awards, held under the theme “Repositioning Brand Ghana: Marketing for Economic Growth and Transformation”, honoured individuals and organisations that have demonstrated excellence in marketing while driving economic development.
A Trailblazer in Banking
Mansa Nettey made history as the first female CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, shattering barriers and inspiring women across the corporate world. With more than 19 years of experience in the banking industry, she has built a distinguished career marked by innovation, growth, and a deep understanding of Ghana’s financial markets.
Her career spans several senior roles within corporate and institutional banking. She previously served as Head of Foreign Exchange Sales in Ghana and across West Africa and later as Head of Financial Markets, Ghana, where she was instrumental in strengthening Ghana’s financial market landscape.
Today, beyond her CEO role, Mrs Nettey serves as an Executive Director on the Board of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana and a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, highlighting her influence across the sub-region.
Academic and Professional Excellence
Mrs Nettey’s academic journey reflects her drive for excellence. She holds a Master’s degree from Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom and an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). This unique combination of science and business has contributed to her analytical and strategic approach to leadership.

Under her leadership, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana has strengthened its position as a market leader, with a focus on delivering value to clients and promoting financial inclusion. Her remarkable achievements have earned her multiple recognitions over the years. In 2018 and 2019, she was named among Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government by CEO Global.
In 2025, she was also listed among the Top 100 Ghanaian Women Board Directors, compiled by Avance Media in partnership with Acreaty Ghana, a testament to her influence and corporate governance expertise.
Championing Health Through Advocacy
Beyond her corporate achievements, Mrs Nettey’s story is one of resilience and service. Having personally battled leukaemia, she founded the Leukaemia Project Foundation in Ghana to raise awareness and support others facing similar challenges. Her work through the foundation underscores her compassion and dedication to making a difference in people’s lives.
