The 2025/26 Premier League season has already delivered plenty of drama after nine matches of Matchweek Six were completed over the weekend.

Arne Slot’s side have relied heavily on late goals to pick up results, with Dominik Szoboszlai’s stunning 83rd-minute free-kick against Arsenal standing out as one of the defining moments of the early campaign.

Liverpool vs Arsenal in Premier League odds

According to Opta’s projections, Liverpool are the clear favourites to retain their Premier League crown, boasting a 48% chance of going all the way.

Slot’s reigning champions, who suffered a shock defeat to Crystal Palace last Saturday, have shown resilience but will need to find more consistency to avoid slipping back into the chasing pack.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are once again tipped to fall agonisingly short. Mikel Arteta’s team have been given a 32% chance of finishing top, but after three consecutive second-place finishes, the Gunners are desperate to finally end their wait for a Premier League title under the Spaniard.

Their performances so far suggest they are close, but the challenge remains overcoming the mental and tactical hurdles when it matters most.

Manchester City still in the Premier League mix

The only other team with double-digit odds are Manchester City, who hold a 10% chance of claiming the title. Pep Guardiola’s men have endured a mixed start, collecting just 10 points from their opening seven games to sit seventh in the table.

However, with Erling Haaland continuing to prove why he is regarded as the best striker in the world, City remain a lurking threat.

The Premier League season is still in its infancy, with 29 games to play and plenty of twists certain to follow. But if Opta’s predictions are anything to go by, the title fight could once again be shaped by Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City – three giants determined to write their own chapter in a fiercely contested campaign.
