Ghanaians have taken to social media to commemorate the life of beloved actress Suzzy Williams, marking two decades since her tragic death on September 8, 2005.
Williams, who was a contemporary of popular actress Nana Ama McBrown, died following a fatal car accident on the La-Nungua road near the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.

The actress was travelling in a Mitsubishi Pajero with her Liberian boyfriend, Edwin ‘Eastman’ Taylor, when their vehicle skidded off the road and overturned around 1:00 AM.
Following the crash, Suzzy Williams was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries approximately nine hours later at 10:00 AM.

Born in 1982, as Suzzy Lebene Malike Williams, she was only 23 years old at the time of her passing.
At the time of her death, she was considered one of Ghana’s most promising young actresses with a bright future ahead of her, and many, including her mother Cecilia Williams, suspected foul play.
Suzzy Williams’ mother raises questions death
In a 2020 interview, Suzzy Williams’ mother questioned the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death.
Speaking on Stacy Amoateng’s Restoration Show, the grieving mother made some allegations about what transpired at the hospital following the accident.
“When I got to the hospital after the accident, Suzzy was alive but in a critical condition,” she said during the emotional interview.
She then made a disturbing claim about what she believes led to her daughter’s death:
“After some time, I saw a fair-looking lady placing a syringe into the nose of Suzzy, after which she died.”
