The Revival on Friday, 19th September 2025, officially opened its new Upcycling studio and showroom in the heart of the Kantamanto Market, a space dedicated to tackling the growing issue of textile waste while empowering Ghanaian youth through skills development.
The Upcycling studio is designed as a creative and training centre where unemployed and marginalised young people can learn to upcycle unused clothing into valuable fashion and lifestyle products. Beyond providing hands-on training, the initiative also serves as a practical solution to reduce waste from second-hand clothes that flood the Kantamanto Market weekly.
The opening ceremony drew notable international and government dignitaries, musicians, and key figures from the textile industry. Traders and market folks warmly welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention — one that not only empowers the local community but also underscores the global relevance of circular fashion.
At the launch, The Revival also announced a new partnership with KOFA to provide clean energy solutions to tailors in Kantamanto. This collaboration will ensure artisans have access to sustainable power for their work, further reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry while supporting livelihoods in the market.
