Thomas Partey has reportedly touched down in Ghana and is expected to join the Black Stars camp ahead of the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers after his court hearing in the United Kingdom was postponed.
The midfielder, who recently departed Arsenal following several injury-troubled seasons, had originally been scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, September 2, as part of ongoing legal proceedings.

Partey is currently facing multiple charges of non-consensual acts relating to alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022.
He was earlier granted conditional bail and was due to appear before the Harrow Crown Court in London on September 2, a development that raised concerns about his availability for Ghana’s upcoming fixture against Chad in N’Djamena on September 4.
However, The Telegraph reports that the hearing has been adjourned without explanation, with a new date scheduled for September 15.
In a video shared on social media, Ghanaian journalist Esther Abankwah provided detailed insight into why Partey’s case was postponed, noting that the midfielder is expected to join Black Stars training on Tuesday.

Just a day after his rescheduled court appearance, Partey is lined up to feature for Villarreal in their clash against Arsenal’s fierce rivals, Tottenham, on September 16, which would mark his first game in the UK since being charged.
Thomas Partey to join Black Stars training
This postponement paves the way for Partey to join his international teammates as Ghana prepares for the qualifiers.
Black Stars head Otto Addo included the defensive midfielder in his team for the crucial doubleheader against Chad and Mali.
Addo and his technical team will lead the players in training through to Tuesday before travelling to N’Djamena for Thursday’s clash with Chad.

Ghana demolished Chad 5-0 in the reverse fixture back in March and will be hoping to continue their dominance in the away clash.
As noted by Ghanafa.org, Ghana will then host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, 8 September 2025.
These fixtures are crucial for Ghana as they seek to strengthen their position in Group I of the African qualifiers.
