Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson is in hot water — again. The 46-year-old Hollywood actor and R&B singer was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after one of his Cane Corso dogs allegedly mauled a neighbour’s pet to death in Atlanta.

Tyrese, best known for playing Roman Pearce in the blockbuster franchise, turned himself in early Friday morning, October 4, at Fulton County Jail. He was officially booked around 6 a.m. and later released on a $20,000 bond, according to jail records.

Police say the gruesome incident occurred on September 18 in Atlanta’s upscale Buckhead neighbourhood while the actor was out of town. A neighbour’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was found dead after being attacked, and investigators later linked the fatal mauling to one of Tyrese’s four Cane Corsos.

Authorities also revealed that Tyrese had been warned multiple times in the past for letting his dogs roam off-leash.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Tyrese reportedly rehomed all four dogs. His lawyer released a statement expressing his “deep condolences” to the pet’s owners, adding that the actor has been “fully cooperative” with the investigation and will continue to comply as the case unfolds.

However, police aren’t letting him off easily. Captain Nicole Dwyer of the Atlanta Police Department confirmed that all four of Tyrese’s dogs have been ordered to be handed over to authorities pending the outcome of the case.

The arrest has sent social media into overdrive, with fans expressing shock that the singer-turned-actor — who recently spoke about taking a “mental health break” and even jetted off to Dubai for some downtime — is now facing fresh legal drama back home.

As of now, Tyrese has not publicly addressed the incident, and his team has yet to comment beyond the initial legal statement.

Once again, it seems life for the Fast & Furious star is anything but calm — and this time, it’s not on the movie set.
