A 30-year-old Uber driver is alleged to have survived a machete attack by his passenger, who bolted away the vehicle at Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya North in the Ashanti region.
The driver, identified as Kwadwo Antwi, picked the passenger from Abrepo Junction in Kumasi to the Barekese area, where the passenger attacked him.
Father of the deceased, Master Alex, says the passenger attacked his son with a cutlass.
“Before my son was able to remove the seat belt and run for his life, the suspect blocked his hand and laps with the cutlass,” he said.
The attacker, after pushing the deceased from the car, drove away the Toyota Vitz with registration number AS 7104-22.
“My son, who was the Uber driver, didn’t die and is responding to treatment, but police are investigating to arrest the suspects,” he stated.
