Mohammed Kudus failed to clinch his first European trophy with Tottenham after their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday evening.
The North London side faced the French giants at the Bluenergy Stadium in Italy, earning the showdown after winning the 2024/25 Europa League.
PSG had booked their place in the clash by claiming their maiden UEFA Champions League crown in 2024/25, thrashing Inter Milan 5-0.

How PSG defeated Tottenham
Paris Saint-Germain staged a dramatic comeback to beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties after the London side squandered a two-goal advantage in the UEFA Super Cup final.
Tottenham’s back-three formation proved highly effective in the first half, limiting PSG’s threat while creating openings of their own.
The Europa League holders took the lead just before the break when Micky van de Ven struck from close range, and three minutes after the restart, Cristian Romero’s header slipped past Lucas Chevalier to make it 2-0.
With victory seemingly secured, Spurs were stunned in the dying minutes as Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos struck to level the score.
PSG then held their nerve in the shootout, edging past Tottenham 4-3 to claim the trophy, per Sports Mole.
How did Kudus fare against PSG
Spurs will have big expectations of Mohammed Kudus this season after his £55million move from West Ham earlier in the summer, and the early signs from the Ghanaian have certainly been encouraging.
He has caught the eye for the energy that he provided in pre-season, and it was a similar story in his competitive debut.

The 24-year-old played in a slightly withdrawn role behind Richarlison, and he worked tirelessly for his team from start to finish.
Kudus’ strong running dragged his team up the pitch on numerous occasions, and he was a constant thorn in the side of his opponents.
He may not have delivered a goal or an assist, but it was another hugely promising showing from the forward.
Mohammed Kudus dominates Nuno Mendes
Kudus showcased his incredible skill, speed, and physical strength, leaving PSG’s Nuno Mendes struggling to cope with the attacking dynamo’s flair.
On two notable occasions in the first half, Kudus left the Portuguese lateral defender in his wake. His pace was simply too much for the full-back to handle.
The first instance came in the 38th minute, when Kudus sped past Mendes on the left wing, drawing a foul from the defender. The challenge was late, and referee decisions resulted in a free-kick for Spurs in a dangerous area just outside the PSG half.
The resulting free-kick led to an unlikely source of Spurs’ first goal. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario took the kick, launching it into the box, where it was initially saved but the ball fell to Micky van de Ven. The Dutch defender reacted quickly, pouncing on the rebound and slotting the ball into the net to give Spurs the 1-0 lead.
Kudus misses out on Partey record
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Kudus missed out on matching a long-standing milestone set by Thomas Partey after Tottenham lost in the UEFA Super Cup.
The Ghanaian midfielder featured for 80 minutes as the Lilywhites threw away a 2-0 lead to lose to PSG in the season-opening European trophy.
