Ghanaian businessman Dr Mohammed Musah, popularly known as Mallam Mohammed, has clarified that he is the sole owner of Unity Television and Unity FM 87.7, both based in Kwahu in the Eastern Region.

Dr Musah said the two stations operate under the Mohammed Broadcasting Company Limited, and that he has documentary evidence proving his legal acquisition of the media outlets.

Speaking to journalists in Accra on Friday, August 15, 2025, Dr Musah said his decision to address the matter followed reports circulating on social media claiming that the founder of the Unity Group of Companies, Dr Kwame Kyei, owned Unity Television.

He described those reports as “misleading” and urged the public to disregard them.

Dr Musah also called on media organisations to correct what he described as damaging inaccuracies appearing in online search results.

In addition to Unity Television and Unity FM, Dr Musah owns North East Television and Unity Trust Pharmacy Limited.

“If Dr Kwame Kyei had registered Unity Television and Unity FM in his name, I could not have operated them for the public. These stations have been in commercial operation for the past six years,” he said.

Dr Musah stressed the need for accurate reporting, warning that false claims of ownership could harm his brand reputation.

Both Unity Television and Unity FM have won national and international awards, including the recent Glodochmea Award by the International Kingdom University for being the first television and best radio stations in Kwahu.
