Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has praised the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Command and Staff College for its adaptability in addressing emerging security threats in the sub-region.

Delivering the keynote address at the College’s graduation ceremony, the Chairperson of the GAF Council lauded the introduction of new disciplines and programs designed to equip officers to analyse global events and anticipate conflicts.

“The introduction of the Multi-Domain Operations and Future Wars modules in the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College is timely, given the evolving nature of contemporary security threats,” she said.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also acknowledged the innovative updates to the curriculum, particularly in digitalisation and cybersecurity, stressing government’s commitment to supporting the institution.

“With the role that technology is now playing in shaping the trajectory of modern security operations in the battle space, digitisation awareness and cybersecurity issues are also welcome in the curriculum,” she added.
She reaffirmed government’s resolve to enhance educational opportunities within defence, noting that the Command and Staff College needed to remain well-equipped to train the next generation of military professionals.

Despite rising enrollment numbers, the Vice President observed that the College has continued to maintain high educational standards.
“The ability to make informed strategic decisions is essential in today’s complex security landscape,” she emphasised, underscoring the significance of the training offered to future military leaders.

She congratulated the 135 graduating officers who pursued programmes in Defence, International Affairs, and Security Studies, urging them to uphold integrity and adaptability as they transition into higher responsibilities.
