The ill-fated accident happened at Adansi Akrofum in the Ashanti Region, and at the time of filing this report, the military had yet to provide the cause of the crash.
However, Kamaldeen asserted that the possible cause of the helicopter crash was its poor condition.
While appearing on a radio station in Accra, the NPP member shared a frightening experience he had on a similar aircraft.

NPP member calls for new army aircraft
Kamaldeen claimed that the aircraft he entered in 2023 was old and experienced a fault while in the air.
He disclosed that he was not comfortable in the aircraft while he went from the Burma camp to Tamale.

According to him, he was disappointed because if it were other countries, those old aircraft would have been disposed of immediately.
The NPP Communications Team Member decided to urge the government to acquire new and better-fitted aircraft for the Ghana Air Force, stating that the current ones were mostly in a deplorable condition.
“This should be a wake-up call. They should ground a lot of them. They have to,” he remarked.

“Yes, he is right. In just 2 days, Ghana has recorded three major transport tragedies. These are not isolated cases. They raise urgent questions:
1. Are safety checks for aircraft and public transport being done regularly?
2. Is our road infrastructure safe?
3. Are emergency response systems working?
4. Are transport companies being monitored?
5. Is the Transport Ministry using data to prevent these tragedies? We need action.”
