The 2015 Year Group of the Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC) Old Boys Association has issued a statement backing musician AraTheJay, following a viral video of him being booed during his performance at the school’s 2025 Torch and Bonfire Night.
In the statement released on X, the group expressed “deep disappointment” over the incident, describing it as both “unfortunate and regrettable.” They emphasized that AraTheJay, known in private life as Samuel Ofei Ankrah Badu, remains a proud Odadee whose journey from PRESEC to national recognition has been “nothing short of inspiring.”

The group also clarified that the individuals responsible for the act were not PRESEC students or alumni. They noted that “true Presecans and Odadees were visibly adorned in Presec-branded apparel and were easily identifiable,” urging the public not to be misled by sensational reports.
Reaffirming their support, the 2015 Year Group said this was a time to uplift, not tear down, one of their own. “To Ara, we say: you have our full support. You’ve made us proud and continue to embody the true spirit of the Blue Magicians. We stand firmly with you today and always,” part of the statement reads.
