On Friday, August 22, 2025, the forecourt of Impact Hub lit up with celebration as Wope Car marked its 8th anniversary—a milestone that speaks volumes about the company’s journey, innovation, and the ever-growing community that surrounds it.

Friends, partners, influencers, and long-time supporters gathered under the open sky to commemorate not just the passage of time, but the impact WopeCar has made in the mobility and sustainable transport landscape over nearly a decade.

Speaking at the anniversary celebration , General Manager Sheena Sue Biney reflected on the challenges of operating in Ghana’s transport sector.

“Operating a business in Ghana is hard. Being a car rental aggregator in itself is hard,” she said. “Even so, WopeCar has pushed innovation. It first launched a ride-sharing platform to reduce emissions.”

WopeCar provides users with independence and reliable mobility, supported by partnerships with more than 150 fleet providers.

Impact Hub co-founder, Will Senyo, described the introduction of EV rentals as a cultural signal for Ghana’s readiness to embrace cleaner transport. He noted that consumer adoption often drives infrastructure development, and WopeCar’s entry into the space could influence broader change.

By launching EV rentals alongside its anniversary, WopeCar has redefined its role—not just as a car rental aggregator, but as a pioneer shaping Ghana’s transport landscape. Biney closed by inviting eco-conscious travelers and businesses alike: “Get ready to book your EV and drive the change you want to see on Ghana’s roads”
