Popular Ghanaian actress Xandria Dede Kamel, popularly known as Xandy Kamel, has taken action against Accra-based broadcast station Fast TV over alleged copyright infringement.

In a press statement she shared on Instagram on Thursday, July 31, 2025, the beautiful actress announced that the CEO of Fast TV, Mr Obed Mawuli MiFutsu, has been arrested by some uniformed personnel from the Odorkor Police Station.
The Accra-based TV station’s CEO was arrested after Xandy Kamel filed a formal complaint in partnership with the Ghana Copyright Office and with the support of filmmaker Mr Socrate Sarfo.
In the press statement, Xandy Kamel expressed her intention to hold Fast TV and its CEO accountable for their alleged breach of copyright laws in Ghana.
According to the press release, the Ghana Police Service had begun investigations into the alleged copyright infringement issue, and further details would be publicly communicated soon.
In the caption of her post, she wrote:
“Update on Copyright Infringement. With the help of the Copyright Monitoring Team and the support of Mr. Socreate Sarfo, we’ve made some arrests in connection with the ongoing copyright infringement case.”

Xandy weeps after Fast TV shows movie
The arrest of Fast TV CEO, Mr Obed Mawuli MiFutsu, comes days after Xandy Kamel, the daughter of the late former Buem MP, Henry Ford Kofi Kamel, called out the TV station in a video that went viral.

In the video, the actress cried profusely and accused Fast TV of showing her latest movie, Unseen Beauty, which stars high-profile Nollywood actress Uju Okoli, on their platform without her permission.
She tearfully shared that the Accra-based broadcast station had illegally shown the movie less than 48 hours after its release on her official YouTube channel.
Xandy Kamel noted that she had yet to make any significant financial return from the movie before Fast TV showed the movie for free.
She recounted how she struggled to promote the movie before she released it on her YouTube channel and appealed to the National Film Authority (NFA) and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts to intervene in the matter.
The actress later visited the premises of Fast TV after the station failed to heed several warnings. Footage showed her hurling insults at their staff after they prevented her from entering the building to confront the CEO, Mr Obed Mawuli MiFutsu.
