Yvonne Nelson wins defamation case
The defamation action involving Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson and media personality Mona Gucci has been decided by an Accra High Court presided over by Justice Audrey Kocuvie-Tay.
The ruling was made by Justice Audrey Kocuvie-Tay on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Mona Gucci was ordered by the court to take down and apologise on the same platform where she made the defamatory remarks.
Mona Gucci was also forced to pay GH₵340,000 in total. GH₵250,000 will be paid in general damages, GH₵50,000 will be paid in exemplary damages, and GH₵40,000 will cover Yvonne Nelson’s legal fees.
Mona Gucci was sued by Yvonne Nelson in 2021 for GH₵500,000 for referring to her as a “slay queen” on Neat FM.
